My older sister bought this 65 Dart Wagon with low mileage in the early 70s.

I pulled the motor for an overhaul in the 90s. I always thought it was the original but the casting numbers are 246343042 and top of block are in this picture. Please, educate me.

The block casting number indicates a 1966 225. Stamped numbers on the top of the block also indicate 225. Not sure what the T or the 0 mean.

I always thought it was the original. Could the factory started 66 engines a little before the end of 65? You know, a 66 motor went into one of the last 65s.
I don't know how to determine if the production date was late. Attached is the broadcast. Again, sorry, I'm new, somehow I got 2 threads going at once.

T: engine built for a 1963-model car ("V" for 1964, "A" for '65, "B" for '66, etc).
22: 225 cubic inch displacement.
5: May (of 1963)
0: misstamp or partial stamp; there was usually no leading zero on single-digit dates (it would be "5 2" for May 2nd, not "5 02"). Misstamps are not uncommon.

2463430: 1963 to 1967 RG (225) block

-42: Casting line/tool number

Thank you Dan, Apparently some one put a 63 motor in it before we acquired it. Mystery solved.
