Picture this in your mind.................
Nineteen seventy ..............three?
Putting a 340 into a 70 RR body
NO INTERNET repeat NO NO NO internet (How old were ya THEN, Al gore?)
So I go down to the dealer (only place you can get them) and buy 318 engine brackets and mounts.
(Why not you ask, buy 340 brackets? Because, silly, everybody knows Ma didn't put 340s into 70 B bodies!!!)
Get back to Miramar. Had the bell turned out on the 340 to fit the big 18 spline gearbox retainer. Got the engine kinda in.
Had to use 318 single exhaust for a couple of months because THAT was all I could afford, and the junkyard threw them in with the deal.................
I bet I spent all morning trynnna figure out which side those brackets went on, AND DIDN'T KNOW you have to shim the left side, which I finally did with some washers.
And guess what? THAT is how it was DONE
