Engine Number location Sth African slant

Hi Guys,

Does anyone know where the engine number is stamped on a Sth African /6?

I know the US and Aussie ones are stamped on the little ledge under #1 plug but mine has nothing there. Really hoping the stamped it somewhere else in Sth Africa. I need it to get my car registered. TERS or Revnrich? Can you guys help?

if there is no vin stamped on the engine it may be a replacement block.

Could be or even original black that's been machined. Hoping not as it's the only number identifying the car in local rego database.

So just to complete this, the answer is that its in the same spot as on US and Aussie ?6s. Seems mine was machined off in an engine rebuild some years ago.

Now to convince the local registration authority that it isn't dodgy. Wish me luck!
