ok regasketed my 69 340 I know it was turquoise ok what brand of paint// color code to use ???

As far as i know, Detroit diesel green is a spot on match to chrysler turquoise. The only other blue i have found is the mid 70s mopar blue which would be incorrect for your year.

You have 2 choices:

Turquoise - Mopar P4120752 (Medium blue-green color)

Blue - Mopar P4349217 (Medium blue color) <<< I think this is the correct color, at least for most of them.

Both are available from most Fiat/Chrysler dealers, Summit Racing, Jegs, etc... IMHO it's good paint.

the MP paints are known not to be close to original but will look good and be close enough for most.

mp has a rep of selling cans that don't work or spray very poorly.. i know i have gotten quite a few over the years.. i won't use the mo stuff anymore..

I got 3 cans of the Mopar regular blue from Summit that looked like right color. Picked up a can at local dealership with same number and it looked like turquoise. :BangHead:

MP stuff is very watery. Takes a gazillion coat to color. I remember doing a 440 in race hemi orange and it took many many coats to get it looking orange. Had to shake the living piss out of the cans thinking the paint pigment had settled, but it was the way the paint was. Of course this was way back in 1987. After that experience i never messed with mopar brand engine enamel. I prefer duplicolor engine enamel. It covers well with a few coats.

We used the Mopar Performance paint on Eddie's 340 build and it was nice paint - went on thick and coated very well... I'm switching from plasti-kote to MP from now on...

All colors:

Mopar Performance

I had a 69 dart with a slanty that was that turquoise blue green color. I used to keep a can of it for painting my mopar model car engines.

I've used VHT Early Chrysler Blue SP-126 which is the turquoise. Pretty darn close match on my 361.

I've also had great results with Duplicolor Ceramic holding up great, even years later.

VHT covers well and has all the colors represented too. I'm going with 1967 plymouth commando red. I think the commando red spray i used was actually VHT, though i have used duplicolor in the past with great results too.

I had the same experience with Mopar Perf paints AbodyJoe had and quit using it because it took so many coats to cover. It looked ok and held up ok but was so watery it took forever to get it coated. I've had good luck with Rustoleum engine paints but I have never used their turquoise so I'm not sure how accurate it is. I have used their commando red and it's really close to original

Maybe the MP engine paint is better now. I dunno since my last experience with it was 1987. With what they charge for it, i will decline taking that chance and continue using what works. Its a shame too because i really love race hemi orange. My performer intake with only 2 coats of VHT commando red. I'd say it covered quite well.
