With that 10.1:1 combo, is that premium gas only then? What do you think.
I’ve got a stock 904, stock torque converter, even the stock one-legged 7.25” with 2.76:1 highway ratio. I could upgrade all that stuff except I don’t drag race or burn out or even peel out. I am interested in the possibility of running 170mph however, which I just read you could do with that SRT8-392 - that is amazing! Maybe I need a better overdrive to reach that high given the redline.
What kind of cam overlap difference is there between the 375hp version vs 445hp, that is to say, how poor would the mileage be trying to commute between them?
:)
This is mostly better heads, and maybe two cam sizes. But at 445hp I don't think gas mileage is on anybody's mind. Even at 375hp with iron heads, it ain't gonna be good.

I knew I shouldda had more boys,lol !
I love my 6 boys and 2 girls and 15 grand kids and would not trade them for anything.
Sure is nice they started to take an entrust in my car. By the time I have great grand kids I will have the best car on the block or a foot ball team with the same last name because will never remember there first name :).

Sorry typed to fast meant to say God help me remember there first name.

I'm still worried about breaking my tranny it was just rebuilt to handle 450 hp with a 2500 stall and a Gear vendor over drive. The rear end is 8 3/4 possi with Richmond ring and pinion and 4:10 gears.
I'm worried about all that torque 500 is a lot.
Don’t worry about it, that driveline is fine for much more. Unless you are dead hooking a very big slick with a stick shift maybe, but with that power level you’re not even close to hurting a well build 727 With a cooler

You definitely need to upgrade your driveline. I had that very combo and gearing, and utterly DESTROYED it with a tired 318 that I did the following to;
Eddy performer intake
Lunati 10200701 cam
summit 600cfm carb
M/T Sportsman ST tires 255/60/15 tires
heavy right foot

I thought this was a facetious question. Sorry.
Very very very few A-bodies have ever/will ever, go 170, even built to go there.
Your stock/stock/stock stuff is good for about 120, after which things will slowly self-destruct. For 170,you are looking at a powerpeak close to 6000 rpm with 2.76s. IDK how much horsepower it takes to push a brick of an A-body to 170, but I'll just bet an awful lot more than 445. And I'll bet it takes more than 3 miles to get there. Hopefully your pinion bearings will burn up before the U-joints let go. That's a long time for even the best parts to have to survive.
But there will be other things to address looooooong before you get to 170. Things like suspension, like steering, and like brakes. And most importantly, where are you gonna run this hi-speed combo? And how long a shut-down area are you gonna need? And what kind of tires are you gonna need to run,and how are you gonna keep all four wheels on the ground?
To run 170mph, you need a dedicated car, and there are only a few places in the world, where you can run it.
In no way a comparison, but
My 367 used to get up to 130 easy enough, doing 4500 in first-overdrive,3200 in second-over, and will cruise there for hours. She's got the lowest quality hi-po parts in her, and I am all too conscious of that fact whenever it was doing that. I can't hear anything but the howling wind, and the road gets awful narrow, and there is no where to go if something goes wrong; so get right with God and say your prayers before you strap in.
