The dyno is loaded to that rpm @ wot...
So at 2500 rpm and part throttle... that's why. Imo. Overlap...? In general..the cam range is the other...because it wont be as efficient till within its power range. ..otherwise it wouldnt
drop off or as bad in 3rd or up a hill in 3rd. The crate 380 seem to like being above 3200 rpm when pulling anything let alone wot rocketing.
You can work around it.. but adding more gear /higher cruise range is the appropriate direction...not smaller this or that...those are bandaid and will only show gains with losses on the other end.
