Hello all. I have a quick question,,,, can you lay bondo on top of epoxy primer?
I'm not going to take the car all the way to steel. I'm fixing rust spots and need to seal it after i'm done until i'm ready to do the whole car but would like to put something down that I don't have to sand back off.

thanks alot

kevin

From what I have read, yes, but you will need to scuff the surface of the epoxy before putting the bondo on top.

Thanks guys,,,, I thought I had read it on here months ago but it's easier asking the question again and gettin an updated answer and being sure of what i think i remember.

thanks again guys

kevin

when I get the car done I'll post all of the pictures

I'm doing something similar and also have a question. How well will just the primer coat deal with weather? I am just fixing a few rust spots till about this time next year.

An epoxy primer will deal with the weather fairly well, UV will attack it way faster than finished paint. Other primers do not hold up near as well as they breath (slightly porous). Epoxy acts as both a primer and a sealer.
