Are people using these on there small blocks? My manifolds fit rather good but don't want to find out later a simple gasket would prevent a leak. Found a Cometic at .030 thick all steel construction. Was contemplating cutting away the bridge between ports as to remove interference with plugs. Anyone do this. Any reason not to do it.

No, make sure both surfaces are clean and level. I learned the hard way after replacing the driver's side on my 318 at least 4 or 5 times. The gasket is more likely to blow out and cause a leak.

Thanks for sharing your hard earned lesson. That's just what I'm trying to avoid. Just want to do it once.

No gasket between the manifold and block. There was a spark plug heat shield on the left side on A-bodies . Bolted on like a gasket but it wasn't

Going to give it a shot pitting and all. Thanks for the comment.

I do, I run the Flatout Gaskets graphite ones. They seal very well and I have reused them 6-7 times and not very gently! Finally got new ones two weeks ago, not cause I didn’t think they would still seal, but almost out of guilt! To be honest I still kept them! Will throw them on the shelf, “just in case”
