After putting on the 72 bumper my exhaust tips stick out too far.The tips are tack in 2 places on the 2/14 pipes. Can a torch melt off the 2 welds,so I can move them back for a better look.

I would use a cutoff wheel in a die grinder and just cut trough the weld

Totally agree with this, but I use the cutoff wheels on a 4" grinder.
Same thing really, but a die grinder is more maneuverable.

A torch would just make an ugly mess of it.

it's a little hard to see from your pic, but I believe the tip of the tip is supposed to be tipped up, if you get my drift. At least it was on my 68 gts, when I bought it new. Don't know how much, maybe somebody here has the exact measurement. I know the guy who did my exhaust and tips on my 67 cuda, didn't do it right, and it bugs me no end.

I'd just cut out the Xtra pipe and reweld if the tacks are in a bad spot to reach

Ok I pulled the tail pipes and had my exhaust shop cut the pipes and remove the tips, best ten bucks ever. Now to install and put the tipsssssss were i like them.
