Extra rear water port on air gap?

The Air gap intake has an extra water access port in the rear right hand corner. Can a person use it for a heater hose connection? If so it would mean less stuff coming to the front.Has anyone tried this?

No never tried it but sure why not...great idea.

Yes, it is becoming common place for people to tap into it for that exact reason.

Sweet, because I already installed an angle fitting in the hole,and was sure enough hoping I didnt have to take it out!!
