FABO Meet-N-Greet 2024 MoPars in the Park Stillwater MN

Sorry I missed ya! I saw you once and then don't know what happened next. POOF!
LOL
Yeah, I popped by to say a quick hello. I heard you fire up your car, but I was gone after a few minutes. I came back and everyone was getting ready to head back to the hotel. I'm already working on next year's ride for the show.

By the way...

I don't know what the hell I was thinking, but somehow I got it in my head that you were in Princeton when we were talking Saturday, which is only 15 minutes away for me.

It didn't dawn on me that I got my towns mixed-up until you went straight/north over the Hwy 36 bridge on Saturday afternoon (I was in the other lane), and I thought to myself, "How is he getting to Princeton going that way?"

But regardless, my offer still stands. If you, or any of the other MN guys here, needs a hand, feel free to give me a shout! I'm in Zimmerman, and always willing to lend a hand when I can.

It was a great weekend. I had too many irons in the fire at once to be able to really sit down and relax with everyone though. I was there Thursday through Saturday and only sat in a chair one time for about 5 minutes. My knees are still a little soar from all the walking and standing. But I had tons of fun! I ended up trading my 440 van for a sweet '87 Dodge pickup with an old coworker that I hadn't seen since 1991. Then he turned around and gave the van to another old coworker who's been battling cancer. Actually, they both are fighting cancer right now. I know it went to a good home so there's some feel-good stuff there for sure. I drove the Barracuda there on Saturday and was so happy with how well it ran. I checked fuel mileage when I got back home and looks like I averaged just a tic over 16mpg. Not bad for a 520 horse small block. Probably double from what it was getting before I did all the maintenance and fine tuning over the past few weeks. Bonus! I was really happy with that and look forward to seeing what it gets once the overdrive unit is installed.
What a huge a-body turnout, it sure was great to see you all. I swear, next year will be less-chaotic and can't wait to see you all again. I love the group of friends we have made! I drove the Hemi Jeep on Thursday, the 440 Van on Friday and the Barracuda on Saturday, each a 120 mile round trip.
I didn't get very many photos but if I know Keith at all, I'm sure he'll be posting a ton of great pics, as always!
PS, thank you Fred, for the great hot dogs as well as the ride in your car so I could check out your Gear vendor overdrive!
Cheers,
Doug

Looks like you are about 45 minutes from my place in Rush City, depending on your actual address. I bet you'll be at the Frankensteiners show this Fall? Regardless, we should try to hook up sometime!

Wasn’t there for the awards. Heard Jim: squad car, Scott: Hemi Dart, Keith: 340 Satellite, and I won awards. I’m sure others will chime in. Record numbers on Sat? And a good time after hrs at motel

Pete (or any of you guys), I have a quick Q on the awards:

When did the judging/voting begin: Friday morning, or Saturday?

Voting ballot in goodie bag, vote any time, awards were at 3:00?
Bazza's wife never opened-up the goodie bag until Sunday morning, so they didn't know about the voting.

And since they weren't at the show Friday, no one could vote for their car until Saturday, which cost them a day.

(Bazza really wants to get an award for his car somewhere...sometime....).

Thanks!

Was nice meeting a few of you on Saturday. Seeing all the a-body car makes me what to get my 68 back together ASAP.
Had a blast driving the 64 though.

It was cool seeing Jed and his dad from Scott's speed shop, dead dodge garage. And I even ran into Chris birdsong from junker up/roadkill garage this year at the show

Would have loved to make it this year but it didn't work out, looks like a good time was had by all. Maybe next year :poke:

What an awesome time! Thanks to everyone who showed up and a special thanks to Fred for making lunch! Here are some random pictures :D

If it wasn't so far away, I would've been there! Good thing we are having our own little FABO get together this weekend at the Mopars VS the World at Renegade Raceways.
