Im starting a restoration on a 70 duster factory black on red interior.does anyone have a clue on the rariety of this color combo?ive searched everywhere on production numbers and came up with nothing also can not find any pics of any early dusters thats black on red.

Chrysler kept no production information to connect and tie interior color to exterior color.

very rare and unusual hope its a 340 car!

No its not a 340 car.was a /6 3 speed but im cloneing it to a 340 4 speed.underneath the car is absolutely spotless.only metal that needs replaced is quarters.car is in pieces and looks really rough but is extremely solid!!

You can be fairly confident that black was as rare in 70 as in 71/72.
It was the least painted color for Valiant/Dusters..

Looks like someone was redoing the interior with newer style seats in white. Theres lots of evidence of the former red interior. Cool!

Yeah, the ad says its a factory black car but i see lots of red showing through the black on the passenger side door...love the red interior

I noticed the red showing through as well. I wonder if that's over spray from the factory when they painted the interior of the door? I am getting more and more curious about the process and the order in which things were done at the factory. Would be neat to know.
I agree, the red interior is cool. The black on red is such a strong contrast. I like also the silver on red and red on red dusters.

How about factory Black on Saddle with RED sport stripe?? BB 4spd

I agree, makes you wonder sometimes how they did things at the factory.

Yep, that's mine. I've still got the shell, but it is a factory black '70 Duster with red bench interior, fold down arm rest. /6 auto. Too bad the frame is rotten.

I hate to say this but im really starting to think your duster and mine are the only 2 that exist..everytime i google factory black on red duster,it only brings up your car.i cant find pics no where on the net of any.
