6 Leaf springs and the front will have a sway bar just by looking.

My 67 has HD suspension, bigger sway bar, 6 leafs, but a 7 1/4. Ordered that way.


6 vs 5 leafs is HD in the day. You also might find part numbers on the leafs
 
Should be on the data plate as an option. My 63 wagon has HD suspension option, I believe 6 leaf springs and heavier torsion bars and HD shocks no sway bar in 63.

THe Rallye Package for the Dart and the Formula S and Suspension package for the Barracuda's and Valiants include HD springs, shocks, sway bar, torsion bars, and other options but it does not include a 8 3/4 rear.
 
Yeah, the rear axle is a completely separate option item. The HD rear springs had a different number of leaves in different years (they used thicker leaves to get the same spring rate), so it may not be a definitive clue if you have less than 6. But 6 is going to be HD for sure.
 
I never noticed any difference in thickness of the leaves, but, I admit I never put a micrometer on them. Do the thicker ones have a number on them to I.D?
