I have a lead on an abody 8 3/4 with backing plates and axels and was curious what a fair price would be?

I've bought 3 complete A body 8.75 rear ends in the last 5 years. Cheapest was $150 and never paid more than $400. But, I've seen them go for $800. It's worth what you are willing to pay compared to what the seller wants. And if you are pleased with the deal, go for it and don't worry too much about what others have paid or gotten.

Last one I sold was complete with a 3.23 open gear set - $450.00

Seems $300 is the going price for just the housing, the axles and backing plates are becoming more subjective, as the small bolt stuff is falling out of favor.

I paid 1200 for the last one I bought...

HAD A 69 340 4SP SWINGER ATTACHED TO IT ...lol

Really!!!
I went to look at an 8.75 that was on CL in a little town in the mtns... when I got there it I found it was still attached to a car that was buried in snow. When I looked inside I saw it was a 4 speed car! I checked the VIN and found it was a 4sp 340 Swinger.
I knew if I pulled the rear end they would scrap it.... so I offered 1200 and bought the whole car minus engine
