Ok don't laugh too hard but I got my fan and radiator installed and the fan is not centered with the center of the radiator, is this correct. I did some measuring and the edge of fan blade is about 3 in from the outer edge of the radiator on the driver's side and about 1 3/4 on the passenger side. I currently do not a shroud but the pictures of a v8 shroud show ds wider than ps.
Sorry for all the dumb questions lately but it been almost 40 yrs since I worked on any mopars

???
Six cylinder radiator??
All engines in these Mopars are off center to the right. The radiators are centered. This is normal.

I guess we might expect things to match up left and right.
An offset fan might seem
Weird until you learn why it is that way.
Tie rod assemblies that are different lengths from left to right… that surprised me.

I would bet the Ausie ones are shifted the other way to make room for brakes, steering etc.

A body small blocks are supposedly offset 1 1/4" to the right side, so it is probably right on.

Nope. They keep the same offset to the right. It is TIGHT on the right side. They had to move the steering box to a frame rail mount (no room for it on the K frame) and run a remote oil filter setup on the small blocks to make room for everything. Then try throwing clutch linkage in there, too...

I seriously hope you don't intend to run your fan setup that way.
Unless it's a trick of the camera, looks like you've got next to zero clearance between the fan clutch and the radiator. Throw in a bit of engine movement and you'll bore a hole right into that shiny new aluminum radiator.

well I just measured and there is right at 1/2 in of clearance and I used the shortened clutch, I was hoping to get 3/4 in but this where I ended up. I am using the champion 3 row radiator. there is about 3/4 in between the fins and the radiator.

it appears that champion could have welded the side brackets closer to the edge of the radiator and that would gain at least another 1/2 in, might be something I need to have done.

I believe there are members that have gotten away with 1/2" of clearance. Might want to query that and what (if any) mods were made to keep the flex corralled in a separate threat.
Shim the engine back maybe? Stiffer mounts?

Absolutely zero need for a three row radiator. Hopefully you won't run into the issue where more rows blocks airflow and actually makes it run hotter. A lot of people have. It's all over the internet and all over this site that a two row with wide tubes (1.250" - 1.50") are far superior to a three row. Your fan would have fit much better with a two row. Good luck!

Yes, that is a common issue that I have read about multiple times here, seems most members have had to have the brackets rewelded on Champion radiators.
