I cleaned up my bench. Stuff was 5 and 6 items deep in places. But I have all my interior stuff in the bay where my suburban is suposed to be.

I don't know what the cardboard that goes behind the back seat is called, but I painted it with a roller using Rustoleum. It had overspray from a few teenage trunk spatter paint jobs. Should dry pretty even.

So after I get my speakers mounted in the package tray, I'm going to start on the interior. Seats are refinished and so are the primary panels. All set with headliner being in and finish material on the package tray. I guess a logical order would be: sail panels, rear lower side panels, trunk devider cardboard thing, back carpet, back seat. Then trim over doors and down front pillars, then front carpet followed by front seat. Finish up with kick speaker panels, door panels and trim...

I made a nice little harness for rear speakers, sub woofer line input and power. Ran it up the passenger side like the rear harness goes on the driver side:thumbsup:

Thanks TF. I am definitely bringing some shiny elements to the car. Even though I love the red and black combo on the car and I needed to paint the bumpers the body color because they were badly pitted, I was bummed out that the car looked like a brawler with the black wheels and the lack of detail. Once I put the polished wheels on her it opened my eyes to mixing in some bling around the car. It is really turning out so great. I think Ill add some chrome exhaust tips as well. I'm excited to put the rest together.
 
I bought some brush on bed liner to recoat the floor of my trunk. This is where I did some of my ugliest fluxcore welding, grinding and seam filling in this trunk when I was still learning to weld way back in the beginning of the project. Initially I used the rattle can Rustoleum bed liner. It looks nice but I was looking for a thicker coating. I brushed it on and I think it will do the trick. It can even be painted in the body color. Wondering if inshould do that?
Lots of fumes in the house and my wife is on the war path...

:mob:24 hours later, fumes almost gone, wife still giving me the business about how inconsiderate I was. I tried to explain that it was just the sweet fragrance of progress. She ain't buyin' it....
 
Paint it body color, I am still pissed at my wife, I had the whole interior tub on my willys prepped and ready to shoot color, she said, the first time the granddaughter scratches the paint on the floor that looks as good as the outside you are going to freak out.

I said sound reasonable, so I sanded the crap out of it with 80 grit and shot bed-liner.

I hate the crap you cannot clean it, and the old Jeep does not have carpet, so every muddy foot print is everywhere.

I will never listen to my gal on vehicle decisions after that.
It would have been way easier to hand wash little foot prints, than clean the non removable stuff that is in there now.
 
I cut it out of a rubber backed 3x6 door mat. I got it through an industrial supply . We have had a doormat at our main office entry that bakes in the sun year-round it's been there for years and it has not faded. That's why I decided to use this. I like the way it looks.

Figured out how the back seat goes in. Didn't put the two bolts in. Dug out the seat belts. I have no recallection how the go back in. Gunna look in the body service manual. Hope it is similar from 73 to 74

It looks like I'm missing the buckles for the front seat, but I'll stick a bolt in the hole so i can do them when I get them
 
D/D -Top of the back seat just slides in, and there are two bolts that hold it on the bottom. Bottom then pushes in and attaches at the bottom. There are little "catch hooks"
 
I got sail panels, back side panels, seat belts, carpet, rear and front seats in today. As it was when I took them out, the seat belts where a pain in the neck.
