Our turn signal switch showed up today from @slantsixdan .

The quality is BETTER than OEM, and the part arrived super fast and packaged very carefully.

I definitely recommend buying one from Dan if you need one.

Compared to others I’ve seen on the web, Dans is heads above the rest!!!

Thanks again Dan.

Jason went over after school and cut and installed the rear Mylar sheets.

We’re waiting till after the wet sanding is done to install our new door panels.

More paint work being done today. Today should be the last day for it.

Got the trunk emblem painted. Both colors. Should look great when the tapes off!

And final machine polishing is going on currently. It’s turning out like nail polish!

Thanks for reading. Eric and Jason

We also got the door panels installed today.

They turned out great and fit beautifully.

That's one awesome car you guys built!

Cley

Thank you. We brought it home tonight and it’s resting in the garage.

Me, grandpa, and Jason are resting now also. Lol.

Yeah. The garage needs cleaning bad. Lol.

Even though the project is mostly done, I’m still going to continue to update this thread, because as we all know they are never done. LOL

Jason cleaned the garage Friday night. He did a great job organizing everything.

He also installed the armrests that he restored. I think they complement the red and black paint scheme of the interior beautifully.

He’s currently driving the wheels off of the car! LOL. It’s performing flawlessly.

He drove it to school Friday.

And he drove it to work on Saturday and today. Yes, the hard-working boy is working on Easter Sunday, whether he wants to or not. LOL. Happy Mc Easter. Lol

Thank you for reading, and thank you to everybody for the words of encouragement and following along on our epic journey!

DId yall redo the door panels yourselves or get them from somewhere? They look quite good.

Love that Z28 SS

Thank you. It’s been part of the family since Jason was 6 weeks old. (17 years). She’s a real cream puff. 74,000 miles, everything works, including AC, and it runs 12.70s. It’s just a fun, great all around car.

I ordered a new Z28 in 1994. I took a while to get it because I wanted the six speed, and they were limited production. I think the SS came out the next year and I loved it!

We had a polo green 94 hardtop before this car. It didn’t have a lot of options and was a screamer. Lol.

This car is a 97 with 6 speed, t tops and beige leather. 1 of 57 in this configuration. A lot of SLP options. I drove it to Easter dinner today. It’s a hoot to snap gears at 6000 rpm. Lol

A lot has happened in the last year.

I figured this thread was a good place to catch everyone up.

Like everyone else around here, our year was a **** show as well. Lol.

For starters, my father, Jasons grand father, Ed the fender mender had a mild heart attack in October of 2019. Stents were put in. His heart was doing great, he lost 45 lbs. but something wasn’t right. His stomach was giving him issues.

Come to find out, he had stomach cancer.

They took him off his blood thinners so they could operate on the stomach. 2 days later his stents clotted and he went into cardiac arrest.

They stabilized him, but there was nothing they could do.

They couldn’t operate on the stomach with the blood thinners, and they couldn’t take him off the blood thinners.

He passed on Saturday morning Feb 22 2020 with me and Jason by his side. The three amigos right to the end. Our hearts are broken and there’s a hole that will never be filled.
