Hello Eric. You guys are doing a excellent job. Nice to see 3 generations working together. Are you using stock leaf spring shackles and do you happen to have a gas cap yet? They are hard to find. Thanks Rob.

That's the same barn, or shop LOL, that me and my father built my 63 Valiant in 25 years ago. There's definitely a lot of déjà vu going on in this project. LOL

thank you. We are using a set of 1966 barracuda formula S 6 leaf springs in the rear. The front shackles are stock, spaced rearword 3/4 of an inch inboard against the frame. We made the rear shackles. They are about 3 1/2 inches long. The rear shackle mount is factory but again, Moved inbored towards the frame.

We have about three gas caps. We will run one of those for now, but I believe Jason wants to do a fliptop gas cap and adapter.

Very productive day today!

We finished most of the weatherstripping and started on the headliner install.

Planing on finishing the headliner and fuel system plumbing tomorrow. Thanks again. Jason and Eric.

The headliner……well……the front and sides went VERY well.

The rear B pillars are fighting us. Lol.

For our first ever headliner install I think it's almost passable. Still a few wrinkles. But presentable.

We are also preparing the firewall for finishing. That includes the brake pedal bracket. It turned out very nice.

Next up on the list was the wiper pivots, seals and gaskets for the afore mentioned pivots, linkage, and wiper motor cleaning, restoration, testing, and installation.

He's also starting his first autoshop class at votech.

Same class and room I was in 25 years ago. He's super excited. It's going to be a great year!
 
Picked up some seats for Jason's car. They are from a 2009 Kia Soul.

They are the perfect color combo for what we want and really comfortable.

We did a test fit of the bucket seats and my old center consul in Jason's car. The center console came out of a 1963 Chrysler 300 J. I had it recovered for my Valiant 20 years ago.

They fit like they belong there. We're planning on finishing seat mounting and fitment on Wednesday.

Side project.

Swapping mirror glass around. Grandpa soaked the spring in evaporust and got them all assembled.

They turned out great and jason learned something new.

Fabricated the mounts for the seats. It was fairly straight forward.

They fit great. Now we just need to fabricate a new top plate for the console to fit the shifter and the gauges.

Grandpa and Jason got the rear window installed. There's more than one way to shin a cat, and I think they tried all of them. Lol.

They fought it, and got the seal, glass, and lock ring installed.

It turned out great.

Well, it's complicated. Lol

No. Not really complicated. Lol

It's a chain of events thing.

We need to get exhaust ran before we fire it. Now that the headliner is installed, we can't trailer it until the windshield is in.

We can't install the windshield until the dash was in. And we couldn't put the dash in till we did wiper pivots. Lol.

We're currently looking for a windshield and installer.

It's proving difficult. Waiting for people to get back to us.

But, we are all geeked to get this thing running. It's going to sound nasty!

Well, I had to work today, and Jason had school and band practice. So grandpa locked himself in the barn with a coil of copper nickel brake line, benders, flare tools, and polishing compound. LOL
