I don't think you'll be able to fit an 8" wheel in the confined space of an early A body wheelwell. With the spriings moved inboard, and the wells mini tubbed you could fit them.
 
You can put a pretty good size tire on a wagon since the wheel wells have a big radius, but I would think twice about a 255 70, that's pretty tall, maybe a 255 60 would be better.
 
I had a 255/70 mocked on the Cuda but didint have a wheel, I had finger room on either side, so the width doesent concern me but the height was questionable

you will fit a 17 X 9 on the back, but a 15 will have to much sidewall.
I have 17 X 9 on my 65 Cuda with 275's on it, very close but it makes it.
do lots of measuring to get the right back space. i think mine have a 5.92 back space, my springs are moved in but my wheel wells are stock.
