Favorite Westerns?

-
..............

How about in Eldorado when Arthur Hunnicutt says to Mitchum, " The first time in months I felt like doin' nuthin fer ya and now you don't want me to do it!"

Mitchum looks at Wayne and asks, "Is there something wrong with that or is it just my hangover?"

Ha, good one.

Also liked the line in Joe Kid
"Well, the fun’s over and he’s gone to church."

Anyone mention

The War Wagon
Red River
The Cowboys (you did!)
Chisum
The Magnificent Seven
The Alamo
Ya got me goin' thru the collection now

Two Mules For Sister Sarah
The Searchers

Anything Eastwood, especially Pale Rider and Josey Wales. High Plains Drifter, too.

More recent favorites are Tombstone, and the remake of True Grit. Not that I don't love the Duke, but I thought Jeff Bridges was brilliant as Rooster Cogburn.

True Grit another of my ALL time favorites! the John Wayne version.

Last Train From Gun Hill is an excellent one.

Once Upon A Time In The West is my all time favorite.
A few not mentioned...

Firecreek
Warlock
Hour of the Gun
The Far Country
A Man Called Sledge
Winchester '73
Duck You Sucker
Nevada Smith
Django Unchained
High Noon

Just about anything with Fonda or Eastwood.

Outlaw Josey whales
Fist full of dollars
High plains drifter
Pale rider

Also liked Butch Cassidy and Sundance Kid with Paul Newman and Robert ???

I can't decide. I like way too many to list, and their are all right up there at the top of the list, lol

Movies, TV shows, and even some of the old radio westerns!

Eldorado and McLintock, watching McLintock as I type this.

All good Movies Honored Posters,
However My singular favorite Western is 'Hombre' ...

"Paladin" aka Richard Boone sure played a nasty sucker in that!!! LOL

I remember something about the stage office when Boone's character was shoe-horning himself a spot on the stage. "My friend just heard you call me a DIRTY name, and even if he didn't.........I did"

Chatos Land 1972(Charles Bronson)
Lawman 1971(Burt Lancaster)
The Proposition 2006(Guy Pierce and Danny Huston who is so despicable). A must see if you want to see the Outback's brutality in the late 1800's. Plus it's a great film. They don't pull any punches in this film and no Hollywoodisms.

I saw the remake version of 3:10 from Yuma first, didn't realize that it was a remake. I have since seen the original, I like them both. Glen Ford and Van Heflin in the original, Russell Crowe and Christian Bale in the new one.

- The good, The bad and The ugly

- Tombstone (Kurt Russel / Val Kilmer version!)

- True Grit (Jeff Bridges version - although i did prefer Glen Campbells LeBoufe character versus the Matt Damon version)

- Big Jake

- Yellow Sky

- Jeremiah Johnson (would this one qualify???)

- Young Guns!!!!!!!!!
