Have a 72 dart, question is this the correct splash shield? I cannot seem to make it fit no matter what I do.

I have a '72 (built in July '72). Mine are plastic but look similar.
Are you sure they are Dart shields? AMD lists a part number for Dodge and a different part number for Plymouth
They came with the car and were not installed. There just doesn't seem like a way to make fit, thats what makes me think they are for something else.
The top photo would be the driver side. There are 4 round holes. the bottom round hole attaches to the rocker end and the 3 above it bolt to the cowl/firewall edge. The tab on your fender bolts to the bump out on the splash shield
Both pics of same piece. Thats where I tried to make work, just doesn't seem to be right shield.
The shield in your pics is for 1967-1969 PLYMOUTH Barracuda....
Thanks, I guess thats why it doesn't fit.
The ones mentioned earlier that are plastic were in later A-bodies, are easy to find, any one for a Dart or Dart sport will fit your 72, they weigh a lot less and... wait for it... NEVER RUST. A great upgrade if you are not looking for originality points.
