Looks like 1966?

'65 and earlier used numbers at the top instead of lower case letters, and '67 and later didn't start with SO NUMBER at the bottom.

SO number....shipping order number and scheduled build date/ C13= December 13
VH23....V= Valiant/ H= High trim class/ 23= 2 door hardtop
H5B.....H= High trim class/5= vinyl bench/B= Blue
DD1.....D= body color light blue metallic/ D= roof color(same)/1= monotone paint
D....Upper door frame paint= medium blue

Middle line
AB.....31=273/2bbl
C......5= Torqueflight auto
R......1= am radio

Top line
B......4= bucket seats
U......1= sold car

Thanks a bunch. I was told it was a 273 factory 4 speed car. It came with all the 4 speed stuff. Trans hole in transmission tunnel, pedals correct gauge bezel an colum. Its a solid little car. Should be fun to play with

I checked again and "5" under the "C" is torqueflite! I did not see however that the 5 in the trim code "H5B" can also indicate buckets with code VH! The 4 under the "B" on the top row confirms the buckets in this case! Geof

If you had the build sheet, I could check the 3 digit trans code!
