You could always mod the car to have a fuel fill in the top of the quarter like the 68-70 Chargers.

I do not leave it unattended, I shove the nozzle in (hard) hold it and lift up.
50/50 on weather it spills out. I just let it, grab a towel in the wash bucket and wipe it down. No towels, I get a wipe from the trunk, move on. The short time the gas is there will not damage the paint.

Do they work well and have you had any customer complaints about them? Is there a difference between a tube for say, a Valiant/Dart than for a Barracuda?

We have never yet had a request to return a converted filler tube....and we've sold many dozens.

All 63-66 A-body cars use the very same filler tube.

I used the little flap diverter form a website and it fixed the filling issues just fine for 19 bucks or so 5 years ago. Called a tank sentry flap. I had trouble with fuel puching all over when filling. I read most of the posts on this subject and came up with my own soluttion. Here is an easy and quite low cost fix. I also turn the fuel nozzel upside down. Shuts off every time no more puching fuel.
