finally blew the trans up today

took the dart out to the track today for some runs

first pass was a 12.26 @107 1.9 60ft spun pretty hard

second pass was a 12.00 @ 109 1.71 60 ft

on the second pass the car wheel hopped about 40ft out and had a weird vibration. when i got it back to the trailer i noticed a puddle of trans fluid under the car. upon inspection i noticed the tail shaft had a crack in it. car must have wheel hopped so bad it busted it.

The crack is probably thru the bearing seat of the out-put shaft, and (not trying to be a downer) I'd inspect the out put shaft to insure it's not bent, more than likely is.

I had that haapen years ago on a 727, the stock trans mount had broken, the rubber mount that is. Changed the mount to a poly one and replaced the tailshaft and was good to go. No issues after that, may want to inspect that mount.
