Well i finally got a chance to test out the Dart on the track last night after the gear swap.I changed out the 4.10's for sum 4.86's .Im making it an 1/8 mile car.The 1.76 low gear in the Powerglide was killing it off the line with the 4.10's.My best ET was a 7.27 @ 94 with a 1.60 60' (launching at 3500 on the Tbrake). Most of the time it was 7.30-7.35 with 1.62 -1.65 60's.I made three test passes last night with the 4.86 gears and my results were as follows.7.29 ,7.28,and 7.29 in that order .My 60's were 1.58 ,1.57 ,and 1.58 in that order and i was only stalling it to 2900-3000.The only problem was that i was running out of cam about 40 ft from the stripe at 6000 rpm and lost about 1 mph trap speed (i was expecting both ).Now that i have the gears up to snuff im gunna port the Econo W2 heads and upgrade to a solid race cam with stiffer springs. That should get me running strong to 6500 and allow me to hang out in low gear longer ,plus lower my ET and give me more trap speed as well .The car is dead hooking on those little 26 x 8.5 slicks with not a spec of tire spin .BTW the car is deadly consistant as the #'s show.Stay tuned for another vid after the upgrades to the small block 408 stroker. This is only a 10 to 1 motor currently with a wimp Hyd . cam that im shifting at 5700-5800 (its all done at that point).I think a 1.50 - 1.55 60' is doable if i stall it to 3500 .Here is a vid from last night to look at ...

Good job there but u need more cam and more converter with the PG.
Agreed ,im not only gunna upgrade the cam to a solid ,but im also gunna port the heads and gasket match the intake to them .I can stall it as high as 4000 on the brake if i try now ,but i didnt last night because i was limited anyway with the cam currently.More changes are coming on my quest to the high 6's with an all motor 10 to 1 small block ...

You know the glide is fine if you have the motor, you don't. I realize you have a small tire and that is limiting you but a 904 with a low gear set would wake that thing right up.

Agreed ,but this is just a fun car and i know this motor is not the best choice for a glide at the cars weight.Your talking big $$$ for a 904 trans swap .New built trans ,low gear set ,new convertor ,new driveshaft ,new shifter ,etc. That much harder off the line also means ,more tires ,spring relocation kit ,etc ,and thats even more $$$ .I know you mean well ,but i gotta take baby steps and stay with in my budget as this is just a hobby car .One day when my house is paid off ,the kids are grown and im retired,i'll do this stuff first class ,but i have to play it cool at this point ...

We took our Demon out a couple of weekends ago. I run a 904 with a 2.74 low gear, 8" convertor, & a 4:30 gear. We made 3 passes, 7.13, 7.13, & a 7.12 @ 94.32MPH. Our 60ft was 1.51, 1.50, & 1.50. I run a .020 360 with out of the box eldo's. I'm just giving you a comparison for the 904. Car weight w/driver is 3060. I run a 10X28 tire ,
