Is there such a thing as finned 10 inch drums? I know there are finned 11 inch drums, I'm seeing them everywhere. Before I go ahead and purchase new 11 inch drums (already have 11 inch backing plates) I'd like to know whether new 10 inch finned are available as 11 inch drums are probably overkill on my cuda.

I'll answer my own question for posterity. Probably not, at least until 1975 on the following vehicles:
1975-1982 Chrysler Cordoba
1985-1989 Chrysler Fifth Avenue
1981-1982 Chrysler Imperial
1977-1981 Chrysler LeBaron
1980-1982 Chrysler New Yorker
1980-1981 Chrysler Newport
1977-1981 Chrysler Town & Country
1976-1980 Dodge Aspen
1975-1977 Dodge Charger
1975-1976 Dodge Coronet
1988-1989 Dodge Dakota
1977-1989 Dodge Diplomat
1978-1978 Dodge Magnum
1980-1982 Dodge Mirada
1977-1978 Dodge Monaco
1980-1982 Dodge Ramcharger
1980-1981 Dodge St. Regis
1975-1977 Plymouth Fury
1977-1989 Plymouth Gran Fury
1975-1975 Plymouth Roadrunner
1980-1981 Plymouth Trailduster
1976-1980 Plymouth Volare

Bendix 10 x 2.5 finned drums are available for these cars - see http://autoparts.allpar.com/auto-part/876474-brake-drum#fits - Assuming at least some ran 8 3/4 diffs, they'd fit on earlier cars, right?

Finned bell-shaped 10" drums were standard equipment from the factory on A-bodies(mostly V-8s - some /6s thru 1972) equipped with the 8 3/4 rear. The brakes for the Abody 8 3/4 rear are 10" x 1.75" for the factory SBP 4" bolt circle.

I'm not sure if new finned drums are available, but equivalent 10" drums in SBP 4" bolt circle are available from a variety of sources.

Search this forum for some of the supplier sources, partstrain.com is one of the known suppliers.

Hope this helps.

I am running the 11" on my '69 Barracuda (with later model discs on the front). They are definitely not overkill.

I decided to go with 11 inch brakes and have just received my 11 x 2.5 drums from rockauto....they look very tough indeed! Luckily, my existing backing plates (the only brake components that came with the 8 3/4 axle I purchased) were for 2.5 inch drums, so everything fits fine.

Now just cobbling together the brake shoes, mounting hardware etc. and I'll be done.

the 10in finned also came on some of the a body cars with the 7 1/4 rear end if it was a v8 car. I actually pulled mine off a couple days ago (70 swinger 318 car) while removing the rear 7 1/4 on my 70 swinger and they are exactly the same size as my 8 3/4 rear with 10in finned drums.
