I posted a car for sale on craigslist for the first time.
My first call? I got a broken English speaking person from 2000
miles away wanting to broker my car.
I told them to come buy it and sell it to who ever they want once I realized
what they were saying.
I have the feeling my # will be contaminated with commercials now.

I make it a point to tell these people they "should have stayed in school" so that they wouldn't have to be as big a loser as their mother was.

yup, although I usually get it in the form of texts but, same-same

I doubt you'll have to worry about ads, though.

I got a google voice number (free phone number that rings to whatever number(s) you point it to - I used that on Craigslist ads (and not for anything else)

You can shut it down if you get spammed.

I have a separate email account and do all my CL communication via that ONLY.

No one gets my phone #, and I get "cut and paste" into my GPS for their address if I'm the potential buyer.

Plus I get written record of any details or questions/answers.

You need to take some tips from Tom Mabe on how to handle unwanted calls:
