I would leave everything like it is and bolt on a 26" tire.

any brand of slick , ( i like hoosier)
or Hoosier QTP
or M/T ET street .

set them at around 12-15 lbs , launch at around 2000 .

I will buy you some beer if the car wont go 1.7x 60 foot ..... 8)
 
My 408 in my 66 Dart ran 11.20@118mph with a 26 inch MT drag radial.60fts were 1.57,thats with 3.91,s.Setting shocks proper and a little more RPM at launch with some sticky,s and you,ll be there.Good luck!
