Flip top fuel door problems

So I bought a delrin adapter from a member here to adapt a flip top door to my Swinger. No problems with the adapter, but the damn door does not want to stay closed, not even when its off the car, it just keeps popping open. it seems that the edge on the door part that is supposed to catch on the release button is just so small. The cap itself is beautiful and looks great though.
Has anyone else run into this? I seem to recall a thread about it here, but I cant find it anymore.
Ive emailed the company I bought it from, but I doubt I will get any satisfaction, and will just end up with a real expensive paperweight

Yeah, if it's a used one, that tip the latch catches on can be worn. Someone REAL GOOD with a TIG can build it back up. .......AS LONG AS it's not pot metal. Otherwise, yeah. Paper weight.

Contact the people at PG. They will help. They helped me out big time once.

Mine was a new one from Year One ,,,,works great .
It was a sold as a second from blemishes in the chrome,,,,,but it was minuscule .
You have to really look closely to find any place at all,,,,,and it’s not a show car .

UPDATE:
Big shoutout to PG Classics, even though it had already been installed/modified, the fault was obviously with the unit so they sent me a new one, no questions asked and it works perfect.
Good to see good customer service
