Some details might help... Center Carb or Outboard? California or 49 State? Probably more that I'm not thinking of....

Pretty sure they are the same. as far as inboard and outboard
 
You have fore and aft and you have inboard and outboard. The aft carb would be the one near the rear of the engine. The "fore" carb will be closest to the front. Inboard refers to the object/component closest to the centerline of the car/engine, outboard refers to the object/component further away from the centerline of the engine/car. Rear bumper is aft on a car, doors are outboard on a car. The console is inboard. What am I missing?
