hey guys putting a front floor pan in my duster and wondering if I need to go a few inches back from the angle seam or take the floor pan out to the angle seam and fix it that way motor and trans are out, thanks:blob:

it depends on your new panel. some have the correct 90 bent into them to meet up with the factory seam and some are just flat for a lap weld.

if it has the 90 then take it to the seam.

yeah it has the 90 degree on it:blob:

ok easiest thing to do it cut to the floor pan side of the seam about 1/4". then come back and cut or grind the little bit of a lip off so its flat. you can either leave that little bit of strip on there or take it off, then install the new peice.

this way you dont have to get under it to drill spot welds :)...

x2 I went 1/2" but I had to trim a little into the sub floor supports, so I can get a good squeeze thru for the seam sealer.
