Flywheel 122 Tooth

Hello all,

I got a A-833 that I'm hooking up to Slant six, made sure the crank had the proper hole for a pilot bearing. But now I'm on the hunt for a flywheel, can't find anything anywhere so I'll reach out to see if anyone's got one. Need the 122 tooth to fit in my slant bellhousing. Also, any clutch recommendations? Just running a standard slant six with a Clifford four barrel I picked up from a friend.

The slant flywheel is also a different bolt pattern for the crankshaft flange as well, so it's more than just the 122 tooth thing. Good luck.
 
Are you aware of which year/models would have a flywheel that would work? I'm gonna go look in some yards around town this week.
You need to know the year model of your engine. There is a small register crank and a large register crank. I believe the split is small register up till 67 and 68 and after is large register. So you need to know which crankshaft you have.

Let me get the register measured today, been at work. When we say register we are referring to the diameter of the crank that mates with the flywheel correct?

This motor was also pulled from a yard, and had been decked before. I was unable to see the id code stamped on it. From what I gather it is a 225 early somewhere around 65' to 67' based on the color/freeze plugs/ribbing on the block.

The diameter of my register is 1.958"

It's the small crank register. Thanks HP for the diagram that helps out tons, pm me and we'll see what we can work out. Y'all been super helpful and I appreciate it.

On a different note, what kind of clutch kits work good for these? I read about the 10" exploding and saw the pictures. Pretty gnarly stuff. I figured a 9.25" will be good enough cause I don't plan on beating on it too much, and I doubt it'll see 5000rpms regularly. Gonna have my kid in there from time to time so I gotta avoid shrapnel in the cabin at all costs... lol

it's more than adequate for moderate HP applications and if you're not drag racing.

i wouldn't worry about it exploding with a cast iron bell, that should contain it.

besides, you'll probably break something else in the drive train before that happens.

Is that a standard 10" clutch or will it work on the 9.5" flywheel. (scalloped pressure plate). Brewer used to sell those for stock applications.

it works with the 9.5" wheel, the PP is scalloped enough and the disc isn't technically 10"

i just bolted one together last week, so it's pretty fresh in my mind. i'll double check the PN on the box though.

Yeah, it's more like 9.95" but close enough, right?
 
Sorta like when me and Kitty first met. She said "gimmie 12 inches and make it hurt" so I did her four times and punched her in the nose.
i ain't been to the submarine races in a month of sundays and when i showed her my clutch all she said was: i thought it was bigger!

it was! i just wore it out slipping it and jamming gears all alone the last six months!
 
all goofing aside, i just grabbed the box and it is indeed the MU1525-1 kit.

to note: i know this fits the 9.5" large register /6 and V8 wheel, i do not have a early small register unit to compare it against but i imagine that it is the same.

Yes, the clutches are the same. I can verify that first hand. I've swapped one to the other.
 
Someone had a small register one on the /6 site brand new billet even, if I am remembering right
 
You would ask me that. I'm not good with that sort of things. These computers aren't mechanical, sorry. Go to slant six.org and look thru the classified. It won't be very far down, would be very surprised if it's been listed on there long enough to have fallen off the first page of listings.
