Here is a small project that I have been slowly working on:

I bought a 1962 Valiant Parts car, I got the good bits saved / Front half taken off, Spot welds cut etc... then I thought this might make a nice trailer, so Here it is.

All of the sheet metal to make the enclosures and floor is MoPar as well.
I have saved the roofs and trunk lids of rotted parts cars for the free sheet metal... there is some '64 Dart / '69 Dart and '79 Volare in the trailer too.

It's not totally done, but the major bits are complete and most of the wiring and paint is done now.

Now I need to get a hitch installed on one of my slant 6 Cars to pull it.

Greg

Nice. I have a trailer hitch for A body 67-76 Dodge Dart. Maybe you can adapt to the wagon.
If you want it let me know .

nice one, you could make an open 'tray' section at the front easy enough too. handy for carrying taller parts/plants or cherry picker access for motor/trans shipping.
neil.

Hi Neil, It may not show so well in the pictures but yes there is an open flat section on the front between the rockers and the trailer tongue that is flat/open for engines/ wheels/tires axles etc.

Cheers!

Greg

I Finally Found a Use for all those Pesky13" x 4 1/2" OE Wheels:

They work perfect for trailers that are using small bolt pattern such as the ValianTrailer. Cleaned them up, put some paint on them to match the roof.

Buffing supplies are on the way to clean up 2 of the OE '62 UFO Valiant hubcaps than I will toss them on the trailer as well.

- A few more to-do's:
- Paint the Orange Panel that filled in between the front folded down Roof and the floor... Bought Some more white paint for that.
- Make a Block off for the fuel filler - Weld it all up and Paint it Blue and this trailer will be done.

Some Photos:
Pesky 13x4 1/2's came in handy on this project... Mouted up some Fresh ST 175 80 13's along with new valve stems.

Lightened up the Rotating assembly and removed the backing plates and brakes.

The Wheels help it to look somewhat completed.

Also Got some "Heavy Haulin'" Bits installed:

Now I Can Tie stuff down and not have to worry that it will go flying around on the corners.

Hangin' out with the other '62:

Some nice rails for the front floor area would be handy i think ?
Add some side running lights, and a tool tray that hold toe rope and small floor jack witch i carry in a go bag in my truck daily.
I like it sir

Thanks, Those are all Probably wise additions, I think I have the Lights already Covered, They are tucked under the rocker panel as well as the Bumper, but they are there.

Here is some inspiration. I made this in 1998. It draws a crowd. I call it "CudaTail"

See you at the Track!

Man that's really cool. How does it pull though with the front almost vertical?

So far its fine. Have not had it in the highway yet or fully loaded.

I put shocks back on it so unlike a small factory built trailer it does not bounce around, even when its empty.

Greg

Loaded with generator, 4 wheels / tires/ gas/ generator / MoPar LA small block short block/camping tent / 70# of tools and other various crap.
250# tongue weight

Interstates up to 85... no problem.. over the mountains in Jefferson national forest.. On VA Route 311... no problem.

This thing is skookum as frig and people video it on the highway.

Yesterday went Mothers day Biking with mom and daughter..

Of course have to go to the bike trail with the Disco Wagon and the ValianTrailer just for fun.
Mom rode maybe 4 miles - I got her a bike without handbrakes recently. - Ava rode about 8 miles boy was she pooped when she got back to the car!

Good Mother's day with Mom, daughter and MoPars.

It's been a while, But I thought I should update.

The mechanicals on the Wagon are/were done by May 2024. I built a trailer hitch for it, added more power and brakes etc. I finally got some good documentation of the trailer returning home from a swap meet. It was heavy and fully loaded with lots of stuff. Enjoy:
