Ford Dealer Offers New 727 HP Supercharged Mustang For Under 40K

That's purdy cool. Maybe it will wake the other auto makers up to provide some equally good bargains.

That's for a bare bones, base model GT with a supercharger, you get it up close to the options that the hellcat has and you'll be up to the same price range

The article clearly states that. That particular Ford dealership has GOT IT. That's basically a modern day Road Runner, but from Ford. Glad somebody is doing it.

I've thought from day one the Chargers and Challengers both were fatass pigs with way too much on them. If Chrysler isn't smart enough to bring back the bare bone hot rod, I am glad somebody is.

That's true. For the PPl who want a high hp, bare bones car it's a good deal. Me? I'd rather have a GTX than a RR

Glad to see someone doing it. Even if I find that particular looking mustang to be the ugliest in a while.

Now that I have to go along with. This is my favorite "modern day" Mustang. They got it right, then screwed it up. again.

Same. They had it really nailed there. Then a couple years later they changed it and it wasn't as good, but it was ok. These new ones just look way to "Aston martin" for me. Ever since ford bought Aston, everything they are doing looks like cheap version's of them.

But I'm not going to argue with 700+ horse for that cheap. Going fast is looking good in my opinion.

A modern day Mr. Norm.
Rusty is dead balls on accurate! No one makes a bare bones hot rod like that for that cost. Them there bare bones Stangs are called Hit Cakes and there gonna go fast. THIS is how you get your product out there!

Chrysler did it to many moons ago and needs to do it again and I hope with a lighter car. But that may be impossible, weight wise.
I would have ZERO issue with a bare bones car. Deleate that A/C, P/S! Who needs sound deadening?

I`m not a ford guy,(family has had too many bad ones) wife owns one (mecury) now. have never been a mustang fan either, but the new ones are the best looking ones they`ve ever made. $40,000 price tag around Tulsa would probly be $68-$70,000 in Tulsa, they try to get rich on every deal here - supreme greed !

dealer built? there are some aftermarket challenger set ups w/ more h.p. than that, but their still about 1000 heavier.

Would hate to have to roll into my MoPar club meeting in a Ford, but........

then ya also join the Stang club!???? ha.......... BUT really how many weinner guys now would buy a H P car without air!!??? or frills??? all th e electronic BS!??? the key, air or not, so called " stripped" ......is HP that does not break the bank!!!!!!!!! just that simple.. lets face it 1968-70 was a different era.....

Interesting to see some 1/4 mile times and speeds.
Still remember how the ''275" HP 340's were way faster then the 300+ HP chevies.

I can do without just about anything, but I do like A/C, but then I do hail from Fl. And I like Defrost that works for foggy windows. But, we arent talkin about a "stripper". It is a 30K+ Base model GT,
Q. What comes standard on the GT?
A. The 2016 GT comes with pretty amazing standard equipment including dual power seats, HID headlamps, SYNC Bluetooth technology, Reverse camera, and even Ford Track Apps. Please contact us for a complete list of standard features.
Imagine if you could get it w/o all the "stuff".

maybe if I was 16 again. if I'm spending 40- 50k I'm going for comfort. for horsepower I'm stick'n with old Mopar muscle.

I can see wanting A/C for some states summer weather and I do not think it a big deal to get under any terms. Have it in Alaska if you wish BUt it would be a nice option to drop along with a few other ones not needed for a stripped down runner. That was one of the appealing things back in the day. Order up a base ride and the head mutha ground pounder in it.

Why MUST I have some items on the group package?

As an ex late model Mustang guy,Roush is pricey, but good... Remember ,Roush has been tuning late model 'Stangs 25 years plus,& doing hot rod Ford,a lot longer that that.(If I had ,the coin....)

Whats a base challenger R/T 5.7 go for these days? I just checked. Its $31,995 plus TT&L. Not too bad in todays inflationary dollars. The problem is they offer up different tasty trim levels like the R/T plus, and shaker. It makes it hard not to want to check off the box for the higher trim level. I think A/C power door locks, power windows, power brakes and power steering is pretty much standard these days. But if you can resist the temptation and can stay with the R/T base, and a 6 speed, just order one up with no extras, and go buy ya a supercharger kit for it, gut it with a claw hammer, and fill a dumpster if you want less weight. Sucky part is doing it this way and voiding your warranty.

The sucky part is Mopar does not have brains enough to offer the car like that.
