I haven't read through the whole thread but I assume it is 11 pages of, mostly, how the new upgrade sucks. It's bad. Not just the "getting used to a new format" bad but it's like they let an amateur build the "upgrade".
I have several issues like ones from pags 9 & 10 (didn't read anything from 1-8). My biggest complaint is quoting someone. I have seen others having the same issue. When you quote someone, even when you click below the quote and start typing, when you actually post the reply your typing is put IN the quote box. I don't know if that is just on phones or what but seems like there have been numerous replies when quoting where that happens.
What was wrong with the old version?

They are suppose to send you an alert for things like a new PM - when your not on the site. Its not working for me either and im trying to figure out why.
Dude people replied in the quote boxes ALL THE TIME before, that's not new at all.
The only thing I've noticed is that if I insert multiple quotes, then type between the boxes, and then delete what I've typed it sometimes pull the quoted text out of the box below. Some kind of text wrapping with the new way the quote boxes appear?
Anyway it's not a big deal. Seems like Joey has returned pretty much all the old functions from before, the changes now are pretty minor. And compared to some of the forum software being used out there this is still way better.

Yeah I saw the option to add them a couple days ago, but I just realized the saved ones were on the header under my account tab! Not sure how I missed it, but it's there!
And so are all my old bookmarks, so that's awesome.
I'm sure you are! It must be a real headache to get all of this stuff sorted out.
I'm sure all the bitching will die down after awhile, there's been a few different software upgrades since I've been here and this one seems relatively minor in comparison to some of them. I forget which one it was but the one that took out all the saved PM's was a huge deal, you've probably still got PTSD from that one.
The bitching will. Beyond that, I'm doing whatever I can to make adjustments as people suggest them to me. Trick is, everything isn't as simple as people think and sometimes doing X affects y, z and q as well. So it can be a pita of a balancing act.
Honestly, losing all the PMs wasnt a problem to me because, I warned everyone before it happened so frankly I didn't much care. It saved a lot of server space to dump those 10s of thousands of old pms, many to people who didnt even visit the site anymore.
It is, but that's okay. It just takes time. the most helpful is when someone is specific in the problem they are seeing. (instead of just saying 'this sucks' or something)
Its simple. Lay out the specific problem and I'll see what I have to do to fix it. All the rest of the BS just takes more time away from fixing the things that need to be fixed.
