I hope you had some choice words for him.

BUMMER

Ive ran into a few of those deals before.....and its best to take your money and walk away.

I had a hopped up mustang I was trading for a guys newer pick up a few years back and I emailed back and forth with the guy over and over and over and we exchanged pictures and info and he knew everything about my car.......we set a deal up and I told him I was on my way.
so after a 3 hour drive I get there and he has me pull the car into his poll barn and he grabs a flash light and he is in every nook and cranny of the car and keeps telling me how great a job I did on building it and how awesome it was.

then I said well lets take a look at your truck....he says ok and walks over to the corner and pull a car cover off of it and much to my surprise the front end of the truck is missing!

he says...I was meaning to tell you that it was in a wreck and needs a few parts.....then he says......I am not really looking to trade either but your car sounded so cool that I had to see it in person ....heres $10.00 for gas, thanks for coming out.

MAN was I MAD....lied about a trade to get me to come all the way there just so he could see my car!.

biggest thing is that I droped everything I was doing in the middle of the night because the guy said that it was the only free time he would be able to make a trade.

anyhow....not trying to hijack the thread and sorry for the big post....just wanted to share my story.

goes to show that there are alot of crookid people out there.

set that $400.00 aside and keep saving it so when the right truck comes along you will be ready!

No choice words. I didn't know what to say. I just walked back to my truck as fast as I could and drove home. I did look at a 68 dart 4 door on my way home. I have talked to the guy before about it and he just wanted to sell parts from it before. I talked to him today and he wants to sell the entire car for $450. It is a solid car but is missing a few things and has a couple of dings. I may just buy it and part it out, because there is no title.

funny how some people do not know what rust free means. drove 500 miles once to look at a "rust free" Fairlane. The only area that were rust free were the areas that were missing from rotting away....the guy contacted me 2 years later trying to make a deal with me.....

I agree with 360scamp!! But I would ask for my loss of time and gas first.
How the heck do people get away with this chit!!
I was looking forward to seeing it, Sorry you had to deal with this DA!!! bottom feeder..
