Rainy day here in eastern Ohio, and I have no garage, so I am trying to re-organize some stuff. Going through an old box full of all kinds of things I kept for one reason or another, and found something I drew right out of HS, during my brief stint at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. I was 18 or 19 when I did this, so it was 15+ years ago. I must say, I am impressed with myself. Makes me want to pick up a pencil...

By sheer coincidence, it kind of matches todays holiday.

I used to draw a lot when I was younger . Regret not using it as a career . Nice work there . You should really start back doing a little . It was a great way to clear your mind and forget about things for awhile .

Thanks for the compliments! I am really considering getting back into it. I have yet to try drawing a car, I would like to someday. I used to collect comic books from about 1989-1992, and they taught me alot about detailing, shading, etc. That was actually my dream job.
I sit down to draw, suddenly 2 hours are gone, and I am so much more relaxed.

RRR, thanks for noticing the dental work! lol. That was for my "drawing & anatomy" class, I was determined to make it as close to real as possible. Wish my teeth looked like that lol.

Awesome drawings and very fitting today! I never had much talent for that, but I could do a passable Trans Am as a kid. (Smokey and the Bandit fan here) :D

Too much computer generated today, it might be good way to relax or us it to make some extra money, but the day of drawing cartoons is going away

I know 2 brothers that worked for Jim Davis (Garfield) for ever it seems, well the one that had been there the longest retired, so the paper said, he was pushed out, they no longer need the artist to draw the cartoons. The younger brother was still there last year, but didn't know how much longer he would be employed

I can draw stick figures, really envy people with talent to draw what they see in their mind. I can think it, just cannot do anything with it.

Thanks everyone! The computer stuff is hard to compete with anymore, but alot of it is just used in the coloring (at least in comic books and other illustrations). I actually went for Computer Animation when I went to AIP. It was a pretty big let-down, but in hindsight, I should have stuck it out.
