Took my 66 Cuda to the track, last nite. Had new slicks and front shocks. Ran a best of 13.328 at 98.74 mph. Was not consistent, as I was playing with tire pressure and starting line technique. Also the air was terrible, had to be 200 % humidity. But I did get a best 60 foot ever at 1.755

Dang man :colors: that's running like a big block stock roadrunner :burnout:
I enjoyed a 2.902 60 FT run 2 weeks ago and almost made it to 60 mph :D in the 1/8, but I did pull a decant light, .695, I have to admit it sure was a adrenaline fix.
Just having a fun day at the track for George Ray (R.I.P) his birthday race.
Felt good taking this chevy out for the Trophy run :D. and a 68 Dart 225 and everyone enjoyed watching at the track

Happy to see you are on the track enjoying that /6 monster, I hope you have some pictures to share :colors:

do you not really have much boost off the line? seems like a lazy 60ft for your ET.

I'm leaving on the bottle. I think that is a real good 60 foot time for a car that weighs 3250, and only 170 cubes.
For those that only relate to 1/8 mile times. 8.383 at 79.69 mph.

Thank you for braking that down for me Charrie_S, I would say so
anything under 2.000 is moving right out of the box good, and like you said ,doing it with a 170 ci engine. Comparing what I see running at George Rays
This big block notch with slicks and glass front cap is getting 1.450 60 ft.
:eek:ops: I am on my wife's computer, but he runs 7.50 class , I have a picture of it on my computer it's a fiber glass front cap 69 notch Barracuda.

Went back to the track, tonight, and did some tuning.
Been trying to get my Cuda into the 12's, and over 100 mph, in the 1/4 mile. It has gone over 100 a couple of times, but never 12's. Tonight, was best ever, Et's and MPH, and the air was terrible.

60ft.....................1/8...........mph...........1/4.............mph

Coming from somebody that caint get a more radical slant than Charlie's into the 13s. lol

That's awesome Charlie. You'll be in the 12s before you know it!

Send it to me. I'll make it fast and send it back.

Thought I had made more runs then that. Found two more time slips.

Tell the boss to give you a raise.

I was finally get back to the track, without rain.

Dang Charrlie_S  You are all over an 8.0 1/8 mile with your iddy bitty 170/6 3250 lb car :thumblef:, I would have to put 400lbs in the back seat to match you, You have that Valiant tuned in, I bet on a perfect air day (cooler and dryer) an 8.0 1/8 is very doable with your 170 c.i. /6 :thumblef:

Charrlie,

Those are some fantastic times for a 170!!!

You should be VERY proud of those 60-foot times, especially... I don't know how you do it!

Hope out turbocharged 225 can match those. 1.70's....:prayer:

I think I am about at the limit of the tires. They were new this spring, but are 10x22x13 M&H. I couldn't get a taller tire that would fit in the wheelwell, and don't want to "butcher" the car. It is really too nice to modify. The tires I really wanted finally became available, again. They were on Backorder for more then a year. They are Pheonix 6x26x15W's. Just need to get an extra $390.
I don't know how you do it!
A lot of nitrous. I am in the neighborhood of a 200 hp shot, and right off the line, using a full throttle switch on the carb.
Back in 2006 I had the car on a chassis dyno, and made 354 ft/lbs of torque at 2900 rpm, with a lot less nitrous. I would estimate, I am now close to 400 ft/lbs.
It is starting to get expensive. Using just about 2 lbs per run, and C-12 race gas at $11.50 per gal.
You pay now (turbo) or pay later (nitrous).
Turbo cost is up front, once and done, if nothing breaks.
Nitrous less up front, but continue to pay, and pay, and pay, etc.

PS: this was a stock fresh short block, with stock cast pistons, and rings, and bearings (homemade full groove mains) in 2010. Just a mild cam, a few oilling system mods. Head is stock except for milling and 340 valve springs. Headers, and a stock cast iron intake modified for a Holley 500 cfm 2bbl. Electronic ign with a MSD 6a.
Trans is a 1965 904 with a manual VB, 8 inch converter, and a 64 pushputton shifter. Rear is a "A" body 8 3/4 with 3.91 SG.
ALL BOTTLE, NO THROTTLE :) :)
