Anybody ever remove the upper arm bump stop for more front end travel to help with launch??? Thanks steve

sure....but consider longer front shocks when doing that. all that bump stop does is keep the weight of the suspension from hanging on the shock....possible ruining it. I would recommened a super short poly stop...just to soften the metal to metal hit.

if not already using....I would get a longer 90/10 front shock.

I'm sure you know.....the longer the travel the greater the camber change.... on most anyways.

I wouldn't remove it completely. You can cut them down and still have some of the bump stop left to do it's job if the suspension comes crashing down hard...might save some parts...just a thought.

It's a blurry line. No "right" thing to do. Let's look at it this way, why do you think you need more travel?

Fly the upper arm bump stop doesn't do anything on compression of suspension only on lift of front end,the lower stop takes the hit on down force--Steve

just putting it out there Dylan,Not saying we need to do it at this point,This freak-en rain has to stop sometime so we can test and tune,It's getting ridiculous--LOL-Steve

I understand, if you could jack the front end up and get us a measurement on how much travel you have now. You might benefit from taking some travel out of it. The rain is crazy! We've got a G body Monte Carlo we need to make some track hits with and dial in..... waitin

Steve, I have one car with comp engineering front shocks that I removed them on, and it helped a ton. however, I was not able to completely remove them on my new car because without a little bit of a stop it allowed the lower control arm to pull my QA1 shocks down far enough that the side of them would hit the frame where the lower arm bump stop makes contact on compression.

so I had to trim them down as far as I could without the shock body being damaged. the QA1 shocks have a larger diameter body than the CE ones. may want to check for that issue if you do trim or remove the stops.

just keep that in mind.

THanks-Yea stupid me wasted the money on the CE shocks,I wish I would have read a little here first and ordered the calverts,OH it won't be the first $100 I've wasted,Just wish i had time to get them before next tuesday,Mistakes I've made a ton of them--Steve

I will report back,Got to go work on the corner weights cause there all screwed up-Steve
