I hope someone out there can help me, I have a '73 dart swinger with a slant 6 225, it has front drum brakes, I recently bought new drums for the front but I'm having trouble pulling out the hub/lug stud assembly from the old drum to put in the new one, I guess I can always take them to a machine shop but was hoping some of you might have an idea for me!

The studs are holding the drum on. What I do is grind around the stud at he drum level then drive the stud out swap the drums and install new studs.

There isn't ab easy way to seperate the 2 pieces. You can beat the crap out of the lug studs and get it apart , then beat it back together again . The assembly would still need to be checked and it may need a light cut in a brake lathe so the brake surface is true to the hub/bearing bores.
