Front Runners On Street Car

-
I have some skinnies on mine but it isn't a road course car. The front wheels are skinny 15x4 1/2, the rears are 15x7. Front tires are 165 80 15 and the rears are 235 70 15.

27-28 inch front tires look killer on a car with 30's in the back. That's the combo I'm going for on my 66, but I will need to some "clearancing" on the front wheel arch to make it all work. I've got 27's on it now and they rub a tad on a turn, but part of that is due to the wheel width and backspacing.

I'm also thinking about oil pan clearance with a big block super stock pan and slant 6 torsion bars, I imagine the front tires will regularly be leaving the earth

Centerlines have 185/65, too short, but I needed tires, and this is what I could find. 25"?
TT's have 235/75 on a 7" rim, 29"+ tall, and would have destroyed themselves without front opening "adjustment".
10" slicks, both cases, and the triangle deep sump milodon. Not a mark on the pan, the headers would drag first.

Around town; not-a-chance would I run anything less than the 235s on my 68 Barracuda.
I never know when some other roadclown fails to follow the rules and ends up in front of me , and so, I gotta be able to stop! , like RIGHT NOW! ....235s are already barely adequate. So I put 295s on the back with un-proportioned 10" brakes. Yeah now it stops pretty good. But I still always keep one eye open ........
