It's about time for me to upgrade my stock transmission. My plans were to do upgrades to the motor first, but my transmission got jealous and started crying (ticking). I'm running a Lockup 904 w/ Factory High Stall and will be converting it to a Non-Lockup version. While the transmission is out, I want to add a quality converter. I'm looking towards purchasing a converter from FTI: Torqueflite 9.5" Street/Strip with a stall speed of 3000-3200...

Good idea or bad?

Current setup: Stock roller 318, Edelbrock 750, Weiand Action+Plus Manifold, Electric fan & fuel pump, Mallory Unilite, 3.55 gears, 26" tires

Sounds like a decent plan to me.

A good converter is never a bad thing.
