Fuel inlet fitting

Slant six with 1920 Holley 1bbl

I just did the fuel line mod found on Fuel Line Mod Improves Starting & Driveability - Slant Six Forum

Using the advised fuel inlet nipple there was fuel spitting into the carb and out the air cleaner opening.

I put the original fitting back in and no mess - ( then I broke the brass fitting when trying to tighten down further - I think it was already cracked:BangHead:)


Comparing the fuel inlet brass fittings, it appears the stock fitting has a reducer type orifice or valve on it. Needle and seat?

Nobody else ever complains about this.......am I doing something wrong?'

I figured it out - my carb has been molested and had the wrong needle and seat. I'm rebuilding it now and its not pretty. . . . .

I wish I could delete the thread. . .
