Fuel Line size recommendations

I have a stock 360 in my 68 Valiant. I recently bought a fuel tank and 5/16 fuel pickup. I need to buy a fuel line. Will a 6AN line be sufficient? I dont have any high horsepower plans in my immediate future. I understand 6AN is a 3/8" line. Will that be an issue since my pickup is 5/16"?

3/8 is fine and Yes you will have to get a 3/8 sender for 3/8 line

Can I buy 5/16 line instead? I bought the pickup online and dont want to mess with shipping if i dont have to.
