hi guys,
i am interested your opinions on installing a high pressure
fuel pump in the tank and regulating it down to about 6 psi.
think along the lines of a stock pump for an injected motor,
3/8's line from pump to regulators.
as with all fuel systems a power interupt or impact sensing
device should be incorperated into the electrical side.
i'm looking to build a reliable system that doesn't break
the bank and is somewhat stock looking.
thanks longarm

I take it you are talking about a pump like they would use on a injected caravan or neon. They run about 35# pressure or more with a pressure regulator that has a return back to the tank. Not like some regulators that deadd head at the carb. My question is why? Pressure does not equate to volume. Chances are the pump or the regulator wouldn't live as long being choked back down to 6# pressure ...plus an intake pump is hardewr to change if it does go bad.

Also as an after thought ...most fuel injected cars also run a fuel accumulator to take the impulses out of the fuel supply caused by the pump

i was thinking more along the lines of a heavy truck pump.
i'd like to not have to listen to a pump running and a
little cleaner look.
hanging pumps off a frame rail or heating my fuel with an
engine mounted pump is what i'm trying to avoid.
is their a high volume, lower pressure in tank pump available?
