I believe I read somewhere that someone put a 1963 Plymouth valiant fuel tank in a 1962. The 63 still has new tanks made whereas they don't make them for the 60-62 valiant. The only noticeable difference appears to be the location of the sending unit. Is this possible? Finding a good tank for the 62 has been impossible.

The '62 one-year-only tanks are indeed very hard to find in good condition. I've hoped someone would send a '62 tank to these guys so they'd have a pattern to make new ones, but so far nothin' doin'. Maybe not such a big deal; at least according to this guy a '63 tank can be installed in a '62 by using the '63-'74 sender and rerouting the fuel line. No idea how well (or poorly) the '63 tank fits the '62 body.
