gonna pick up a set of aluminum tubs real soon for the demon. looking to see what you guys are running and how exactly do you guys mount them up? building a drag car with limited street use. also how have you guys set up your front ends? im running the stock fenders, but i want to do a tube style for the fenders to hang on. if you guys can also post pics that would be a plus! thanks guys!

we did steel in an AWB falcon, its easier so you can weld to them...

but really just cut out where you need them, make the tub flat, then make all your filler peices and your good to go...

I made poster board copies of the tubs and taped them in place. measured carefully from the backing to the fender every inch and transfered that to the posterboard. Cut it out and then used tape and pieces of posterboard to fill in the short areas and cut the areas that were too long creating a tight fit to the quarter panel. Then transfer that to the wheel tub and cut. Seal it with silicone sealer or I've also seen fiberglass used. Either way fit the posterboard first before you cut the tubs.

I'm searching all my dvd's looking for the step by step I did when I made mine -but of course I can't find it. Basically I measured and measured again and ended up with 33" x 16" tubs -cut them out of 22 guage sheetmetal and pop rivet them together- fit them in then welded then together and anywhere they touched weldable metal on the car and along the frame rail -then filled any area between outer 1/4 panel and the tubs with expanding foam. Finished off the inside with carpet

thanks for posting the pics. but would it be easier to do the steel tubs instead of aluminum?

one thing about aluminun tubs...driving back on return road..if the tires pick up small rocks and throws against tubs...you will see bunch of dimbles in your aluminum tubs..

the steel tubs are somewhat more durable...
