The letters actually stand for "Blau Mitt Weiss"
Which literally translates to "Blue And White"
A quick glance at BMWs logo will explain how factual this is

Sorry for the redundancy, I later noticed others had already addressed it.
Documented use of the BMW symbol dates to 1918. In Mein Kampf, Hitler claimed to have designed the Nazi symbol in 1920. BMW and the Nazis were tightly intertwined through 1945 though.just came across this pic, from before they hade the bleu and white logo
