[WANTED] gear box nut

I need the big nut that attaches the pitman arm to the gear box

I can get a new pitman arm but it wont come with the big nut to hold it on.

I don't think I can use a regular hardware store nut for a steering parts.

if anyone has one let me know

There is also a large and thick lock washer too. I may have it.

I dont have a calibrated eyeball but if I guess correctly that is the smaller of the 2 possibilities. 3/4 fine thread. Nut & lock washer from hardware store will work, if they have it.

the pitman arm was missing when I got it so I have no idea but the person I got it from tends to think it was from a 73 but I am not sure if there is a way to know or find out

Diameter of the output shaft is approx 1.250" on the 73+ PS boxes....

72 and older is smaller....

Go to a farm implement dealer, Case IH, John deer. I bet they have one that will work. Is the Case IH dealer still just east of Pueblo? FYI good place for other bolts also.
