We had a pretty ggod time. OnehelofaDart and his wife made the long haul from Jersy with 3.91 gears. His Dart his pretty bad sounding too.
BigEd was their with his wife and kids. I was looking forward to finally meeting MikesDuster after talking to him for almost 3 years now but he had car trouble. I'll let him tell the story. Hope all is OK Mike.
Also CrAlt from Moparts stopped by in his"Dirty Dart" wich was actually a pretty clean slant six 4 door.
A few local friends stopped by aswell. It was a small gathering but alot of fun. Even my wife had a good time talking with OnhellofaDarts wife.

well..its been a VERY LONG DAY!!!!!...it started about 7:30 this morning...went over my friend johns house(the guy who owns the carvel) and got his trailer but his friend borrowed it for carlisle and didnt bring back the straps...so i had to go back home drop the truck and trailer off,get the mini-van and go get them!!

got home,loaded the car,got the 4 girls,wife and emmas oxygen tank and left....my wife made HOME-MADE brownies and cookies,girls were all excited and of course,SO WAS I!!!!!!

i noticed my truck was smoking a little when i was going uphills and i almost turned around in west hartford and came home but my wife said it only did it when i got into it so to DRIVE NORMAL....everything was good till i hit the BIG hill going into CHESHIRE....i got into the SLOW lane and BARELY made it up the hill...it was getting a little hot but everything else was fine.

2 girls in a bronco pulled next to us and asked if everything was ok and i said,YEAH!!!....i got off exit 26 and was nearing the end of the ramp and the 2 girls was beeping and saying" YOUR TRUCK IS ON FIRE!!!!,YOUR TRUCK IS ON FIRE!!!!....i pulled over thru it in park,jumped out,ran around the truck and YANKED out emmas oxygen tank,my wife and the 2 girls were getting my daughters out and all of a sudden theres like 3-4 guys yelling"GET THE CAR!!!!,GET THE CAR!!!!,GET THE CAR!!!"

so we started to unhook everything and then i relized the key to the lock on the trailer is IN THE TRUCK!!!...i jumped in the firey truck, got the key,unlocked it,jumped BACK INTO THE TRUCK put it in neutral but it wouldnt come off the ball,the guys were jumping up and down on the truck and it finally freed up and i rolled it into the curb and the end of the ramp about 10 feet from the trailer.

my dad came down with his truck and towed me home!!

i want to thank the CHESHIRE POLICE AND FIRE DEPARTMENTS, the 2 girls in the bronco,the guys who unhooked my trailer and a guy from danbury,LENNY SILVER(hangs out at MARCUS DAIRY)....he's the one who hooked my trailer to his truck and pulled it to a park and ride,then went down and got us some COLD sodas!!!

sorry for this to be SO long,but its been a LONG day!!!..im really sorry we missed it but i hope we can have a end of the year CAR-BE-QUE!!

im gonna try and get some pictures of the truck tomorrow in cheshire and ill post them(well,adam will for me :lol:)

Mike, when we were talking about having a Car-B-Que we meant a picnic. There was really no need to burn up your truck! Seriously, glad it wasn't any worse and that everyone is safe. I brought the kids figuring yours would be there too. Sorry to hear about the bad luck.

Thanks go out to everyone who put the shindig together and to Rory for hosting it. We had to split after a couple hours because we had another picnic to go to. Still wish I had my heap together in time.
 
ED thanks for coming. We'll do it again next year. Those suasage and peppers were great.

And Mike next yeardont have a Car-B-Que without us :eye:

want to thank rory(bossvega) & wife for their hospitality :thumrigh: . had a great time in ct. was great meeting adam (fastbackcuda), ed (big ed's garage ), rory, dirtdart, and all thier families, and friends. so sorry for mike (mikesduster), and families misfortune enroute. having met mike at mopar nats, i was looking foward to meeting his famly. next time i'm sure. special thanks to all the ladies michelle , linda, julianne, and all their children with whom my wife had a fabulous time. i have some good pictures of the boys and there beautiful cars, but dam if i can't get them on the site. also had a nice ride there and back. dart ran great except on the way home crossing the tappan zee. the skys opened up, fog so thick you couldn't see the car in front of you. water pelting the car from the river. also not driveing the car in the rain to often discovered a leak commimg through my wiper seals. ugh. looking foward to the next get together. the rest of you guys in the area should make the trip next time. good times and good people. :salut:

i really wanted to meet everyone and see tony again,he's a great guy with a great car!!!!

im just glad we didnt have a TRUCK-A-QUE cuz i would have started without you!!!

is there ANYWAY of having ANOTHER one THIS year??? :(
 
yes there is!!!!!! if we want to have another get together like the begining of next month we can,the more people the better...were always bar b queing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
 
Was a good time and cool meeting other cool mopar people. I'd have to say my daily driver slant five dart with all its bird crap and trash in it was a little out gunned but it was still a cool trip. It was nice to finaly see that cruse in at marcus that I always hear about.

Chris is was good meeting you ! We'll without adout do it again. Rorys allways cooking out at his place and Linda always over cooks. Im sure they would mind having people over to help eat all that food.

By the way BigEd, Rory wanted to know what kind of suasage you used. He said it was the best he ever had :D
 
Tony I have to convert your pictures from bitmaps to Jpgs then I can post them. For some reason the converter I use wont do it ? :scratch:
 
Its not the sausage, ya gotta put in some fresh basil and rosemary and bake the whole mess with a drizzling of basalmic vinegar. Glad to see someone liked it, I thought it was gonna go to waste when I left!
 
ed, the sausage and peppers were almost gone before i left. had to wait for second wind. it was great. adam , is that the reason i cant post the pictures myself?
